BREAST CANCER CHALLENGE COINS RAISE AWARENESS
The Carroll Fire Department of Urbana, Illinois has kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a bang by creating custom challenge coins featuring the famed pink ribbon on their website. These fundraising items were designed as a way of promoting a good cause as well as identifying the core values shared by the department’s firefighters.
Courage, Honor, and Service are traits that people in communities can appreciate. Firefighters, with all of their distinction, make great role models and fundraisers. A portion of the proceeds from every challenge coin sold will go to the Mills Breast Cancer Institute at Carle Hospital.
This is one example of a group committed to the greater good of its community. Fire departments around the country can follow suit and create their own custom challenge coins to sell in support of Breast Cancer Research. Others can use card stock to deliver a message about the importance of routine mammograms and education. Small details like these can significantly change the way a person looks at Breast Cancer.
Law enforcement agencies, school groups, and non-profit organizations can team up with a challenge coin manufacturer to create the type of memorabilia that sees results. In addition to making a great gift for donors, these items also serve as a symbol of hope for those battling the disease.
